Great design inspires me. Graphic design. Fashion design. Product, lighting, interior and garden design inspire me. Jewelry, way finding, furniture design and great architecture inspire me. But nothing inspires me more than God's exquisite, colorful and intricate designs found in nature. Tropical fish inspire me. Orchids and succulents inspire me. Ferns, spiderwebs and snowflakes inspire me. Seashells, animal prints, and even rocks inspire me.

Authenticity inspires me.

Witnessing the courageous heart of a person. One who RISKS looking foolish, or feeling pain, for the reward of truth and discovery. If you don't know what I'm talking about spend some time with Stan Evenson.

And of course Nature, her dynamic unfolding, with kaleidoscopic surprise at every turn, full of textures, colors, sounds and scale. What a joy to be a player as well as an instrument in her sublime wild symphony.

Christ inspires me everyday. Today I am particularly inspired by Romans 5:3 which reminds me to "glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope." AMEN.

I am inspired by the sea. I take great comfort in the fact that the true "fountain of youth" is found in the ocean and the lifestyle of surfing which celebrates beauty, balance, physicality, and our relationship to nature. I know I will be doing it as long as my body will allow it.

I know I'm inspired when my heart flutters and I feel a sense of anticipation. That happens when the little fish on my kitchen counter wiggles its body when I approach the glass bowl it lives in. It happens when one of the hummingbirds in my back yard hovers just at eye level as if wanting to tell me something. It happens when I look closely at the amazing design inside one of my foxglove's slipper flowers or the scent of one my roses seducing my nose.

To breathe life into... Inspire: Inhale.

Inspiration breathes life into my Soul and into my creative Humanity. When I see others inspired, I am in turn inspired. It's association & connection with it that spawns it. We just returned from Burning Man. The complete improbability of that event make ALL things possible, thus miracles happen constantly. Infinite Improbability creates Infinite Possibility. Improbable is everything. Fear is erased when we see others in fearlessness. Effort is erased when we see others in effortlessness. Flow carries us downstream to the greater pool of calm, of community and of broad horizons.

Inspiration inspires me.

I was lucky enough to go to Burning Man this year, and I was so inspired by the creativity, connections, community, incredible art, sharing, gifting, and especially the huge outpouring of love that was all around, everywhere, in everyone!

My wife and friends inspire me. Finding ways to help and support my friends and family inspire me. Shooting stars and fireworks inspire me.
Smiling eyes, openness, vulnerability and connection inspire me. Lucid dreams inspire me. Beauty, simplicity, orgasms and adderall inspire me.
So does humor. :-)

Tiny, sparkling droplets of water that quietly and patiently sit inside the open pastel petals of succulent plants in my garden, always (without fail!) inspire me to the core. They are marvelous, shimmering, mysterious, magical worlds unto themselves smiling back at me reminding me that there is always more beauty to see and be a part of, if I take the time to look more deeply.

Can't help it - I'm a Deadhead through & through. And now, with Sirius radio, I can listen all day every day, which I do. Something about Jerry's voice & guitar playing moves my spirit & is the background music to my thoughts.

I love that! It inspires me to keep painting even when I don't feel like anything's happening. Inspiration could strike at any moment!
